Co-designer Lyssa Surface came up with the idea for the LillyBit Uptown Diaper Clutch after frustrations from changing her daughter on-the-go and especially in public restrooms.  Like many parents, Lyssa always had a hard time finding essential baby changing items in her over-sized diaper bag and she didn’t want to set her bag down on a public bathroom countertop or floor – ick!  She also didn't want to lug a bulky diaper bag around for quick trips out and about.

When Lyssa couldn’t find the solution that would carry and organize all her diapering essentials and wouldn’t require her to set her bag down while changing her daughter’s diaper, she decided to create one herself.  She enlisted the help of long-time friend and fashion designer, Jessica Schifman, to help her design and create a stylish product.

Together the women collaborated, talked with several mothers and experimented with various designs before creating the unique, functional and fashionable LillyBit Uptown Diaper Clutch, which was thoughtfully designed for on-the-go moms who desired easy access to essential diapering necessities--without having to set anything down on the floor or spending a lot of time digging around the bottom of a diaper bag.
